Start in Mountain Village
Begin from the Mountain Village Core, or come up from the town of Telluride on the gondola.
Work over to Prospect Bowl

Skis go in the rack out front. Chairs and heated tents are on the snow beside the hut.

What time should you head up?
High Camp Warming Hut closes before the lifts do. Treat it as a mid-day stop rather than a last-run stop, and give yourself the ride up plus the ride back down.
If you are hiking to Black Iron Bowl and Palmyra Peak hike-to terrain, the timing matters more — that is a long way up from the top of the lift, and the hut is the last food before it.
